Paraamba is committed to the upliftment of the under – served and people with special needs without discrimination on the basis of caste, creed or religion. Through service Paraamba aims to bring about a transformation in the society where people and communities are self-relian
The instruments of this change are Sevavratis – young men and women volunteers – many of them who dedicate their lives fully to the noble cause of serving the society.
Sevavratis, in the course of their training at Paraamba, are trained to consciously nurture their already present but dormant qualities of patriotism, perseverance, humility and acquire skills to serve in domains like Rural Development,Literacy, Eradication of untouchability, Child Education, Common Health Education, Individual and Family Counseling, Propagating Yoga and Spoken Samskruta language, Rehabilitation of street children, Rehabilitation of physically challenged and/or specially abled children, Environmental protection, Drive against alcoholism and Environmental protection.
Since its inception in 1980, Paraamba has been constantly expanding its activities, covering more towns and villages and ensuring the co-operation and participation of local people so that the service is effective and the benefits are lasting.
